International Audience for Mobile Games Expert

InfoLab21 games researcher Dr. Paul Coulton has caught the attention of technology media after giving a talk at an international conference in America. In his presentation 'Using Touch, Sight and Gesture in Mobile Games' Dr. Coulton, discussed a number of innovative ways in which mobiles can be used to play games.

InfoLab21 Praised Following LARIA Visit

The Local Authorities Research and Intelligence Association (Laria) praised InfoLab21 for its contribution to their Annual Conference held at Lancaster University. Delegates were given a tour of the building, talks and saw a new compilation film of the various InfoLab21 videos - all available on our website including the new compilation.

More ICT Cluster Groups Set Up In The Region

InfoLab21 are pleased to announce that all the Cluster Groups in the region are now set up and running. The groups (Lancaster, Preston, West Lancs, Blackpool & Fylde, and East Lancs) are now recruiting members for the Steering Groups and if you are interested in applying or would like to attend the Clusters please email Business Development Team Nick or Colin.

MP Speaker At Blackpool & Fylde Cluster Group

Local MP Joan Humble was the Key Speaker at Blackpool & Fylde New Media Entrepreneurs Cluster Event held at The Solaris Centre, Blackpool on the 23rd of March. She spoke about the specific problems of encouraging women into the IT profession and of the issues related to the recent super casino bid.

Do You Have An Environmental Business Idea?

The Lancaster Environment Centre at Lancaster University has launched a competition to find four green business ideas and help turn them into reality. The competition is calling for creative, realistic, environmentally-focused business ideas which will then be incubated in a purpose-built ‘business hatchery’ in the Lancaster Environment Centre.

Winners of the 2007 Business Creation Competition will be given a host of prizes and unique opportunities including 12 month’s free incubation support and accommodation in The Gordon Manley Building – the new business extension to LEC, which is one of the largest environmental research centres in Europe.

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) has invited intelligent business specialists, Junction YK, to stage a series of free events across the region to introduce business people to these new opportunities and show them how adopting ‘intelligent’ practices can improve their own circumstances.
