A one-day event to showcase the latest research and ideas from recently appointed professors at Lancaster University took place on Friday 18 April. The Ideas Festival, open to students, University members and the wider community, allowed Lancaster academics to share aspects of their research on themes ranging from Design to Wireless Broadband.

Blackpool Business Support Network (BBSN) will be showcasing Business Support opportunities for Blackpool and Fylde businesses. Lancaster University are amongst a number of organisations such as Business Link Northwest, Blackpool Council, and UCLAN supporting the event.

The 3rd European Conference on Smart Sensing and Context (EuroSSC) will be held on October 29-31, 2008 in Zürich, Switzerland. EuroSSC 2008 aims to bring together academic researchers and industry experts with a variety of backgrounds to explore technology, human and user aspects.
