Gran Theft Auto
Ian Sommerville beat off intense national competition and was awarded 55k funding from Microsoft to develop tablet based games for the elderly. He secured a prestigious Microsoft Research grant of £55,000 for a one year project looking at a "Tablet based games platform for elders". Over 150 research teams put in bids and Ian's was one of 12 successful teams to win funding. This success is a real InfoLab21 winner being funded directly from industry.
