Business Leader Explores Digital Growth in Lancashire
A successful digital enterprise in the North West has hosted a visit from high profile business leaders to demonstrate how local companies are blooming.
Internet marketing agency Adrac Ltd, based at Church near Accrington, was visited by David Frost CBE, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce.
Mr Frost, recently described by The Independent as "fiercely pro-business", arrived with Steve Hoyle, Commercial Director of Elevate East Lancashire, and Mike Damms, Chief Executive of the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
They enjoyed a tour of Adrac's Technology Centre headquarters, met staff and discussed business support and the positive growth of the region's digital technology sector. Mr Frost commented that it was "tremendous to see such enthusiasm, energy and success" from the agency and its sister companies.
Sohail Sarwar, Director of Adrac, told his visitors that telephony, power and broadband supply to the North West is among the best in the UK.
He said, "Digitally innovative and creative companies in the North West are reaping the rewards of higher investment into internet connectivity than those in cities, with the benefit of having fewer demands on infrastructure because of our comparatively sparser population."
Mr Sarwar, who regularly attends Pennine Lancashire Employment and Skills Board meetings, also lauded the calibre of graduates who have studied in the region's universities;
"Our high-end skills base is excellent and testament to the quality of the North West's universities. As many as 11 of Adrac's team members graduated from local establishments."
Adrac Ltd, established in 2002, is one of a group of companies owned by Reach Global Ltd and is a new member of InfoLab21's Associate Company Scheme.
