SCC Academic is Top of the List for First Grant Funding
Dr Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou of the School of Computing and Communications (SCC) has secured funding for an 18-month project entitled "Network error control for Rapid and Reliable Data Delivery (R2D2)".
The project (EP/L006251/1), was ranked first among competing First Grant proposals and is set in the research field of network error correction and will develop unified channel and network codes to deliver high reliability, low decoding complexity and increased security in next generation networks to satisfy the increasing demand for streaming and downloading of high quality media.
The funding comes from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) under the First Grant scheme.
