BP's Chief Technology Officer at InfoLab21

InfoLab21 was visited by Michael Haley, Chief Technology Officer at BP who gave a talk on about BP's use of wireless sensor networks. Lancaster University currently works with BP in the context of two projects: Cobis and NEMO.

Both projects are in the area of ubiquitous computing and wireless sensor systems. The goal is to research techniques for integrating computing technology into physical objects such as tools, goods and products. The particular application focus is health and safety monitoring in industrial work environments.
