InfoLab21 Joins Pan-European Tech-Transfer Initiative
A Pan-European Initiative
InfoLab21, in conjunction with Manchester Metropolitan University and Liverpool University, are supporting this project to showcase Technology Transfer projects and innovative SMEs throughout the North West Region.
The AIMES Centre (Advanced Internet Methods and Emergent Systems), part of the University of Liverpool, is a pioneer in the transfer of e-science to e-business and is spearheading the i-techpartner project.
To Technology Transfer teams and innovative SMEs from the North West, this project offers a unique opportunity to take part in an ambitious European-wide scheme to find the perfect development partner.
The project involves eleven European regions who will each identify the most promising technologies from their local universities and research institutes within the Life Sciences and ICT sectors and will help to match their needs with the perfect partners - entrepreneurs, business experts, intermediaries and investors - to take the technology forward to commercial success.
The project centres on a portal at www.i-techpartner.eu which will be launched in April this year to enable regional companies and entrepreneurs to register their interest, book events, access discussion groups, view profiles and arrange meetings with likely partners in their locality. It also offers the chance to cast their net wider to the international community of researchers and experts who have registered their interest in partnership opportunities.
