Radio Lancashire 'School Trip' to InfoLab21
Radio Lancashire brought an 'unusual' school trip to InfoLab21 last week.
The trip was organised by the radio station after a number of their listeners expressed a desire to go on a school trip having missed out on the chance in their own school days.
InfoLab21 receptionist Christine Murrell heard that the group were coming to Lancaster Castle and rang up to invite them to stop off to eat their packed lunches in InfoLab21's Cafe.
Presenter Tony Livesey played 'Teacher' and led a coach load of his Breakfast Show listeners, complete with school uniforms, to several Lancashire destinations.
Christine said, "The 'Radio Lancashire School Trip' did not disappoint us. A real mixture of radio celebrities and true Lancashire characters. After having just visited Lancaster Castle they were able to enjoy the Cafe21 hospitality and the fabulous views from the InfoLab21 roof garden."
InfoLab21 does have a real schools programme including Headstart and Taster Days where pupils come and learn about the type of work they could do in the areas of computing and communication systems.
