InfoLab21 Leads New Project To Make Public Spaces Safer
Lancaster University's Computing Department is based at InfoLab21
Prof. Jon Whittle of InfoLab21's Computing Department is leading "uTELLus" - a new cross-disciplinary research project funded under the EPSRC's Digital Economy programme (EPSRC contribution: £855,000).
The aim of the project is to use technology to capture in real-time users' preferences about the spaces in which they live and use this infomation to transform public spaces and make them safer and more inclusive.
The project brings together computer scientists, economists, mechanical engineers and designers across the UK and is a collaboration between Lancaster, Aston, Manchester, Coventry and Brunel Universities.
For more details of the project, see link below.
