New Government Measures To Boost Female Entrepreneurship
A new package of measures to ensure that women have the support and confidence to maximise their business potential has been launched in response to recommendations by the Women's Enterprise Taskforce (WETF).
The WETF final report, 'Greater Return On Women's Enterprise', was published on Women's Enterprise Day (3rd November).
Actions include creating regional Women's Enterprise Champions and a new industry-led Women's Enterprise Forum, plus a commitment between major high street banks to continue to improve the routes to business finance for women entrepreneurs.
Actions will also be taken to address the shortage of available data on women's enterprise to drive policy and advocacy.
A similar package has also been launched to support ethnic minority entrepreneurs to establish and grow their business.
This move forms part of a Government pledge to maximise UK business talent, and broaden participation in enterprise to help tackle the challenges facing the UK economy.
