Mobile Tech Teaching Partnership with Kazakhstan-British Technical University

This week Lancaster and Kazakhstan-British Technical University agreed to a new teaching partnership which will see Lancaster's Communication Systems experts deliver an MSc in mobile technology in Kazakhstan for the first time.
KBTU's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Zoya Tuiebakhova travelled to Lancaster to sign an international collaboration agreement with Lancaster's Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings on Wednesday 17th March.
It is intended that undergraduate programmes will follow, as well as opportunities for KBTU's staff to come to Lancaster for their postgraduate studies.
The private university of Kazak-British Technical University was established in 2001 as a joint initiate between the British and Kazakhstan governments and has 4 Faculties: Petroleum & Gas; Information Technology (IT); Economics & Management and International School of Economics (LSE). It has around 2,000 undergraduate students and a small number of postgraduates. Its priority is to increase the number of postgraduates and it anticipates doing so by collaboration with foreign universities.
