Computing Taster Week
Story supplied by LU Press Office
The Computing Department, with contributions from the Departments of Communication Systems and Engineering, is running a Headstart scheme in July for Year 12 school students. Students will stay on campus and have the fantastic opportunity to be inspired by the multi-faceted and innovative world of Information and Communication Systems (ICT).
The course will include a series of hands-on workshops exploring key underlying technologies, as well as a range of inter-disciplinary informal lectures on the engineering of embedded sensors, underlying communications technologies such as wireless communication, programming challenges of such systems, aspects of human interaction and also a session on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Places are still available - contact Rebecca Marsden in the Computing Department for details.
