Personal Information

I have always had a keen interest and fascination towards technology and, more specifically, mobile devices and the telecommunications sector. I subsequently decided to study towards a degree in Electronic Communication Engineering. On completion I had the opportunity to further extend my studies, deciding to studying towards a PhD, as part of the Forum Nokia Innovation Network at Lancaster University, specializing in the use of kinetic and physiological sensors in conjunction with mobile phones to promote and reinforce physical activity.

I have since developed skills in both generic application programming using C, C++, Python and Java, concentrating on mobile applications programming using Java ME, and more recently web development using HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL. I have focused on optimisation of these technologies for mobile devices.

My interests include individual and team sports (including cycling, snowboarding and football), following developments and discoveries made in all areas of science, mechanics and technology, as well as global events, both political and social.  I strongly believe in protecting the environment and giving something back to society, I am a registered NHS Blood Donor and Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Donor.
