- The Spoof – Ten years ago, in collaboration with my brother, I developed the website TheSpoof.com: an online satirical newspaper and magazine, whose stories are written by members of the website. The website receives over six million annual visitors and has several hundred contributors. The website runs on an entirely bespoke content management system, written by me, in ColdFusion and runs on a MySQL database.
- Keycare.co.uk – A bespoke content management and e-commerce system for Keycare Limited as part of freelance work carried out at Netstep. The CMS manages every aspect of the website and has an administration suite behind the front-facing pages. It was developed in C#/ASP.net with a SQL Server database backend. The booking and ordering system is also bespoke and allows new customers to order key fobs and existing customers to renew their policies. The system integrates with Sage Pay for payment processing.
Personal Information
I have a keen interest in computer programming, and in my spare time enjoy creating applications, both in designing, and implementing the software. Although I mostly program for my own pleasure, I plan to publish a web-based CSS sprite generator I have written in C#/ASP.net and a web-based interactive fiction game engine, which I am writing in Java and C#/ASP.net.
I am a keen cyclist, and cycle well over 1,000 miles a year, both commuting and for leisure through the local countryside. Recently, I have discovered a talent for singing and I am a member of the Lancaster and District Choral Society and my two local church choirs.
I enjoy charity fundraising events and have recently raised funds by completing a sponsored swim and I have also raised funds for Christian Aid through several choral events, and most recently at a music concert in which, as well as singing, I played the recorder.
