£1.8m Competition for 'Convergence in a Digital Landscape' - Challenge 3
The Technology Strategy Board is investing up to £1.8m in feasibility projects that address the converged nature of the digital landscape.
The Technology Strategy Board is to invest up to £1.8m in feasibility projects that address the converged nature of the digital landscape. The programme has been delivered in three parts during 2012. We are seeking projects that focus on convergence in hyper-local media models, content origination tools, and analytical feedback and metrics tools.
Challenge 1 (now closed) encouraged innovative, hyper-local cross-media platforms and enabling technologies that will drive new service offerings, reach out into communities and provide conduits for public services.
Challenge 2 (now closed) focused on projects that would lead to true cross-platform origination of content, the collaborative generation of ideas, and new business models for content based on cross-media formats and consumption.
Challenge 3 seeks projects that investigate the potential of cross-platform analytical metrics and feedback tools to help content producers better understand the consumption of their products in a converged digital landscape.
Projects must be business-led and are open to small and micro companies working either singly or in collaboration with one another. Academics can apply, but only as part of a consortium.
Projects should last up to 12 months and are eligible for grants of up to £56,250 or 75% of total costs. Total project costs must not exceed £75,000.
Challenge 3 opens on 15 October 2012 and the deadline for registrations is noon 14 November 2012. Successful challenge 3 projects must begin no later than 1 February 2013.
