InfoLab21 Hosts Nokia Innovation Competition

The finals of the UK leg of the Nokia Innovation Competition have been held at InfoLab21, hosted by Forum Nokia Champion, Dr. Reuben Edwards of InfoLab21. The six finalists were invited to present their applications/ideas to the judging panel.

The competition was designed to encourage entrants who could develop innovative applications, as well as to generate interest in the mobile developers of the future.

First Prize was awarded to Tamas Vajk, Budapest University of Technology & Economics and to Will Bamford, Lancaster University, for "Tilt Racer", a unique game that incorporates mobile gyroscope control with a PC driving game to create a unique and innovative gaming experience. Both winners will attend the European final this month in Budapest.

The judging panel for the UK final were: Forum Nokia Champion, Dr. Paul Coulton, m-ventions ltd, Peter Melling, Globigames Ltd, and Dr. Nigel Locket, Business Development & Innovation Unit, InfoLab21.

The international Nokia Innovation Competition was designed to promote innovation and generate interest in the mobile developers of the future and was open to schools, college, and university students.
