Employment Scheme Enters Times Top 100
A scheme run by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Lancaster University has entered the Times top 100 graduate employers.
Nucleargraduates is a two-year programme backed by more than 20 different companies and government bodies ranging from Sellafield, Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems to the MoD and the Environment Agency.
Set up in 2008 by The NDA, the programme is part-administered by Lancaster University's Centre for Employability Enterprise and Careers (CEEC), by Tara McLaughlin, NDA Project and Placement Liaison Officer.
Lancaster University employs graduates on behalf of the NDA, providing access to secondments across the Nuclear Sector. Up to 60 graduates a year are offered the opportunity to work on key economic, ecological, political and technological projects relating to the UK's nuclear industry both at home and overseas.
Now ranked 72nd on the prestigious Times top 100 employers, nucleargraduates is the second highest new entry on the list and joins the likes of PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM and Sainsbury's as one of the UK's favourite graduate employers.
Tara commented, "This is a superb achievement for Lancaster and for the nucleargraduates programme. The recognition for this unique graduate programme proves that success comes from being ambitious; innovative and by bringing private and public sector ideas together."
